KBVR photographs, circa 1970-1988.

This collection consists of color slides made and/or assembled by KBVR for use in television productions and broadcasts. The images include views of campus and campus buildings; the KBVR studios and staff; intercollegiate athletics; President Robert W. MacVicar and his wife, Clarice MacVicar; Corvallis; the ASOSU Senate in session; and students. Of particular note are images of the coaches and players on the 1980/81 women's basketball and gymnastics teams, businesses and street scenes in downtown Corvallis, and the Vina Moses Center.

Robert W. MacVicar, OSU President from 1970 to 1984, was born at Princeton, Minnesota on September 28, 1918. He attended the University of Wyoming, graduating with honors in 1939 with a B.S. degree in Chemistry. MacVicar continued his education at Oklahoma State University where he received a masters degree in Chemistry in 1940. KBVR-FM, the student-operated campus radio station, began broadcasting in 1965 as a 10-watt station. In January 1967, KBVR television began broadcasting for several hours one or two evenings per week, on the closed circuit television system used during the day for classroom television.
